For Immediate Release

March 30, 2010

03.30.2010 – WEST BLOOMFIELD, Michigan (March 30, 2010) - The Open Source Science Project, Inc. (theopensourcescienceproject.com) is proud to announce its partnership with the Coalition on the Public Understanding of Science (copusproject.org) - a US-based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to engaging sectors of the public in science to increase their understanding of the nature of science and its value to society.

In joining the COPUS network, The Open Source Science Project seeks to both affirm its fundamental philosophy regarding the transparency and accessibility of scientific research, and engage in establishing relationships with additional organizations within the COPUS network in order to increase the depth of its research-based curriculum, as well as the resources available to researchers who seek to disseminate data and conclusions derived from projects funded via The OSSP research microfinance platform.

COPUS is sponsored by the American Institute of Biological Sciences, the Geological Society of America, the National Science Teachers Association, and the University of California Museum of Paleontology.
