Consider the extraordinary and
unparalleled potential of the
internet to support a truly
global dialogue. While
language and access to the internet
remain formidable barrier to such a
dialogue, the overall ability of
individuals in any corner of the
world to communicate with one
another has been considerably
improved by its development.
As the network of global internet
users grows, the need for
consolidation has grown
concomitantly. Companies such
as Google, America Online (AOL), and
Yahoo! have each sought to satisfy
this need by creating large
searchable directories of websites
and objects (e.g. images, sound
files). In doing so, they
allow their respective users to
search through large portions of the
internet for from a single location.
Thus
far, however, no central resource
exists that is capable of adequately
consolidating scientific research
materials, and presenting these in a
manner that is useful to both
researcher and non-researcher alike.
Furthermore, due to the largely
closed-door nature of contemporary
scientific research, this lack of
consolidation has made information
that was already difficult to
access, more so.
By
developing this discussion forum,
and placing it within the broader
series of resources we have
developed herein, we hope to
encourage a more open dialogue
between researchers, as well as
between researchers and
non-researchers. What
distinguishes this forum from its
peers throughout the internet lies
in that discussions held here need
not remain as such. Rather,
discussions may lead to research
projects (that may, in turn, receive
financing via our research
microfinance platform), or result in
theories and conclusions that may
subsequently be integrated within
our broader scientific
research-based curricula.
In
other words, this discussion forum
is more than simply a digital
message board seeking to recycle the
understanding of today.
Rather, this forum is a staging
area for the research and
researchers that will revolutionize
tomorrow!
